Active Learning

Our practice is accredited with the University of Wollongong, and we play an important part in the teaching of the next generation of doctors. Patients often have the opportunity to either see a medical student or have a medical student sitting in on their consultation. By engaging with students, you help us in our passionate commitment to the training of our future medical workforce. 

Junction Street Family Practice has been involved in training specialist general practitioners for over two decades and remains a desired placement for registrars. As a patient you can be assured that our registrars are highly competent qualified doctors, well supported in providing excellent medical care. As a registrar you can enjoy a quality practice dedicated to education with a structured internal learning plan and several very experienced, accredited RACGP supervisors.

Our doctors and nurses participate in regular clinical meetings, ensuring we always have fresh minds bringing new ideas and methods into our practices. We source our education from experts outside our practice and we leverage the extensive experience and expertise of the doctors who work within this teaching environment.

As a patient, you may also occasionally be attended by a student nurse or be part of the ongoing training of one of our Medical Practice Assistants. Our focus on learning contributes to our commitment to sustaining an excellent experience at Junction Street Family Practice.
